Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma, Nagaland in Collaboration with the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkota is organizing the Third Workshop on Official Statistics in North Eastern States

Sampling and Official Statistics Unit (SOSU), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in collaboration with Department of Statistics, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma is organizing a three day workshop on Official Statistics in North East Region with special reference to the state of Nagaland during November 2 - 4, 2015 at the Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, Nagaland.

The objective of the workshop is to provide a platform for meaningful interaction between the generators and the users (including researchers) of official data in order to understand the gaps and improve the quality of data and stimulate evidence based research. The academicians in the workshop would present their observations on the official data and the official statisticians, especially from the North East region are expected to comment on various aspects relating to collection and compilation of official data on North East India.

Applications are invited from the faculty members, researchers, the official statisticians and the policy makers from the North East Region (particularly from the state of Nagaland) for participation in the workshop. Completed Application in the enclosed format addressed to the Principal, Kohima Science College must reach Md. Jakir Ali, Local Coordinator, of the workshop within by September 10, 2015 by email/regular mail. Applicants who have attended similar workshops in the past organized under the aegis of SOSU will not be considered. Selected candidates would be reimbursed travel cost by the shortest route (Bus/Shared taxi/Train AC-III) on submission of relevant documents and provided local hospitality (including boarding and lodging for outstation candidates) from November 1-5,2015.
