INTRODUCTION

Kohima Science College Central Library was established in the year 1970. It was initially located at the east end of the administrative block and then it was shifted to a temporary building in the year 2011, and then it was eventually shifted to its current building (constructed under RUSA fund). The library has adequate infrastructure to cater to the needs of the users and being centrally located it is easily accessible by all the members of the college fraternity. The financial requirement of the library is met mainly from the library developmental fund accrued from the yearly library fee of the students. The various developmental activities of the library are managed by the library committee which is then forwarded to the principal for approval.

The college library is equipped with OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) which is the interface between the library and its users.

BOOK LOAN

Book-loan privileges available to the users are segmented with the numbers and periodicity based on the category as Under Graduate, Post Graduate, teachers and college staff. Also, Book bank is Available.

N-LIST

Free Access to e-resources including top journals through Inflibnet-NList and National Digital Library.

UTILITIES

Reprography and internet facilities (6mbps broadband) for browsing and Wi-Fi connectivity.

FOOTFALL

The average transaction per day is about 30-50 check-ins and check-outs of books and the daily attendance in the library is about 80-100 including that of the students who comes to avail the facility for reprography and internet browsing. There is ample space for growth in terms of daily footfall
